The Academy
A working salon is the best classroom there is, so that's where we teach.
The Salon 2 Academy grew out of three decades on the floor in Sligo. We built it for hairdressers who want to go beyond the basics: to understand why a section falls the way it does and what separates a good finish from one that turns heads on the street.
Class sizes are smaller. Every course is hands-on and taught by educators who are still working on the salon floor, not teaching from a manual written ten years ago. Whether you’re starting a new journey or advancing your expertise, our academy is committed to helping you grow and succeed.

From foundational cutting to advanced techniques and upstyling, choose from a range of courses designed to develop your skills at every level.
The Nexxt Generation Stylist Level 4 course starts with a review of previous levels, teaching stylists the theory of precision haircuts, specifically the Round Graduation. This is a one day course taught by Anthony Kilcoyne in Salon 2, Sligo.
Do you struggle with any of the following: Consultations, Planning and execution of your hair cuts, One length (lines), Graduations, Layers, Face shapes or decision making? If you do, we can build a course to suit you taught by our head educator Anthony Kilcoyne.

Cutting, colouring and gents' hair
Anthony started in Salon 2 in 1987 and he is still cutting on the floor today. His approach to cutting and his approach with clients set the standard for the whole team. Alongside his work in the salon, Anthony has a real passion for education and has been sharing his knowledge as an educator for over 12 years.

With over 20 years at Salon 2, Shirley brings a wealth of experience to every consultation, that puts clients at ease. Her passion for education is just as strong, and she loves sharing her knowledge and experience through teaching and courses.
